GET TO KNOW ME

I'm Jesse Visser, the girl behind the lens! That's why I decided to call my creative brand Jess Vissuals. It's a mix between my name and the word "visuals" because I don't like to limit myself into one particular niche, I want to do it all.

From as long as I can remember, I've been experimenting with creative outlets ranging from using my dad's old camcorder to make random videos, entering my 2014 Youtuber phase making trendy (and cringy) videos, producing music videos to Avril Lavigne and Green Day music, writing short stories and books, creating posters, and even podcast episodes with my sister (we do love to talk!). My creative passions from a young age eventually led me to earn a degree in Multimedia and Communications at McMaster University, where I expanded my skills in storytelling, video production, and design.

I also recently started my own podcast called I Don't Give a Care which is all being your authentic self- check it out!

So aside from my creative ventures, who am I as a person?

When I’m not behind the camera or editing, you’ll probably find me listening to podcasts about relationships and self-growth, biking or hiking with my three dogs, going to music festivals and concerts with my friends, and blasting anything from punk rock to indie folk to country music. I love any music that makes me feel something and inspires me to create art.

I’m also obsessed with astrology- I’m a Gemini sun, Gemini rising, and Aquarius moon, so if we work together, don’t be surprised if I try to guess your sign. ;)

Life, to me, is about finding beauty in the mundane and little things- whether it’s golden hour lighting at a sunset, a perfectly made coffee, the sound of rain, the whole crowd singing in unison at a concert, or watching the waves crash at the beach. Those are the feelings I want to evoke through my work. I want to tell stories that feel authentic, personal, creative and you. Finding the beauty in all the small things (yes, I'm a huge Blink-182 fan).

WHAT'S MY STYLE?

From traveling to photographing my friends, family, and clients, I have gradually created a gallery of memories and adventures that convey my creative vision- check it out for yourself!

I absolutely LIVE for photos and films that have a "vintage" yet timeless feel. I'm most drawn to vibrant and bold colors that reflect the beauty of the subject or landscape. If you can't already tell, I emphasize the blues, greens, vibrant colors, and warmth in my work.

Colour to me brings anything to life and shows the true nature of just how beautiful a place or person is. Personally, blues are my favourite because they represent a sense of calm, peace, and serenity.

My go-to aesthetic is anything that gives off that California-vintage-90's-grainy look . To me, that style represents freedom, spontaneity, and adventure, which is what I'm all about.

I don’t like to limit myself to one style because there are countless that I love- as an indecisive Gemini, I like to experiment with a variety of styles. It entirely depends on the setting, the feelings I want to evoke, and what vibe the client is looking for.
